Reverse recruiting services for the US and Canada

Reverse recruiting is a job search run on your behalf and paid for by you. Zee Careers sources roles against a target you agree, tailors your resume for each posting, submits the applications with your approval, and keeps a tracker you can open. Two monthly plans: Focused Search at $500 and Search + Outreach at $1,000, which adds hiring-team research, personalised outreach and follow-ups.

What is included, and what is not

Focused Search, $500 a month. Written search criteria covering role level, function, company type, compensation, location and work authorisation. Sourcing and screening suitable opportunities. A shortlist you approve. Resume tailoring for approved postings. Application submission and quality checks. A live application tracker. A weekly progress summary. Review of targeting and application messaging based on the evidence. Not included: hiring-manager or recruiter outreach, and outreach follow-ups.

Search + Outreach, $1,000 a month. Everything in Focused Search, plus: Research to identify relevant hiring managers and internal recruiters for agreed priority roles. Personalised outreach to verified, relevant contacts where they can be reached. Follow-ups where appropriate, stopping when the recipient replies. Contact attempts, follow-ups and replies recorded in the tracker. Review of outreach targeting and messaging. Outreach covers the priority roles agreed before the search starts, and only contacts who can be identified and reached.

How much work a month covers. The scope of each month's work is agreed in writing before you enrol: the application scope, the outreach scope on Search + Outreach, how often the work is reviewed, and what you approve. It is set from your search criteria, how many suitable roles exist, and delivery capacity, and it is a defined scope, not unlimited service.

What stays with you. Agree the target: level, function, company type, pay floor, location and work authorisation. Approve the shortlist before anything is sent. Reply to employers who respond. That window is short and it is yours. Prepare for and attend interviews. Decide on offers. Employers make hiring decisions, and so do you.

The published plans do not include an interview or offer guarantee. Each commits to the work listed above; hiring decisions are the employer's. The full price comparison is in what reverse recruiting costs.

How this is different from a resume mill

The first question most people have is whether this is one of the services that fires several hundred generic applications at a keyword feed and reports the volume back as progress. That business exists, and it is easy to run, because almost nobody audits the output.

So audit the output. Ask any provider for the tracker. A real one lists the role, the company, the date the posting went live, the date the application went in, the name and title of the person contacted, and the date of each follow-up. If what comes back is a count, you are buying volume. If it names people and dates, someone did the work.

Run that check on me. Your tracker is live from the first week and you can open it whenever you want; the weekly summary comes on top of it.

What happens on each role

Every role goes through the same sequence. The first three steps run on both plans. The outreach and the follow-ups are what Search + Outreach adds, on the priority roles agreed at the start.

  • Sourcing against the target you set: level, function, company type, compensation floor, location and work authorisation. Not a saved keyword alert.
  • A resume tailored to that specific posting. The top third gets rewritten in the language the posting uses, so the first thing on the page carries the same words the role does. Your history is not changed.
  • The application submitted inside the first five days the posting is live.
  • On Search + Outreach: research to identify the relevant hiring manager and internal recruiter, then personalised outreach to whichever of them can be verified and reached, by email or on LinkedIn.
  • On Search + Outreach: follow-ups where appropriate, stopping when the person replies. Every attempt, follow-up and reply is recorded against the role.

The first two weeks, by day

Days are counted from the intake call. The five-day submission window runs from the posting going live, so the two clocks overlap. Every date lands in your tracker.
Day What happens
0 Intake call. The target goes down in writing: level, function, company type, compensation floor, location, authorisation.
1 to 3 Sourcing, and the first shortlist. You see the list before anything is sent.
1 to 5 Applications go in, each with its own resume variant, inside five days of the posting going live.
From week one On Search + Outreach, outreach on agreed priority roles, with follow-ups where appropriate that stop when the person replies. Each attempt is recorded against the role.
Weekly A progress summary, and a review of targeting and messaging against what the tracker shows.

Week three onward, and what I do when a posting keeps getting reposted, is set out in how it works.

What makes it work

A decided target. The work runs against a target you have already chosen: the level, the function and the kind of company. If part of that is still open, we settle it on the first call, so nothing goes out until the search has something to aim at.

A search that is busy but not landing. This is where the work adds the most. You are sending applications, the replies are not coming, and you do not have the hours to work out why. The tracker separates the causes, and I change the part that is failing.

An honest timeline. A search takes as long as it takes, and I will not imply otherwise to get you to sign. We talk through timing on the first call, so the plan fits the runway you actually have.

The tracker

You get a link in the first week. It lists every role, the posting and application dates, and on Search + Outreach every contact attempt, follow-up and reply. The weekly progress summary comes on top of the tracker, not instead of it, and nothing is held back until a review call. There is a labelled sample of the format on the home page.

What is and is not published about results

No placement rate, interview count, salary increase or time-to-offer average is published here, and no client is named or quoted. A client case goes up only with written permission and the redacted tracker rows behind it. When you compare providers, ask each one to show you applications submitted, interview invitations received, interviews completed and offers as four separate numbers, with evidence linking them.

If you are a career coach or you run a small search firm, and you want this delivered under your own brand, the arrangement is different. It is set out on for career coaches.

What the review call is

Fifteen minutes, on a Google Meet video call. Bring your target role and a rough account of your recent search. You will get a read on where it is stalling and what would fix it.
